Ireland’s Classic Hits Radio is spearheading ‘The 40 Day Health Challenge’, an inspiring new initiative that’s all about getting you moving, eating well, and improving your mental wellbeing! The 40 Day Health Challenge, brought by the makers of Operation Transformation, is a free public health initiative aimed at inspiring people across Ireland to make sustainable lifestyle changes. With expert guidance and a supportive community, the challenge will help you eat well, move more, and improve your mental wellbeing over 40 days. Setting the challenge and giving you the plan are Personal Trainer Karl Henry, GP Dr Sumi Dunne, Clinical Psychologist Dr Eddie Murphy and dietician Sophie Pratt. For 40 days, people can eat well, move more and focus positively on their mental health Join us for daily updates on Ireland’s Classic Hits Radio, Online, in the The Irish Sun and on our podcast channel.

Deirdre O'Sullivan is a mother-of-four from Cork, married to Jim (one of our other Challengers) and joined "The 40 Day Health Challenge" to feel better about herself on a daily basis. Deirdre has worked in hairdressing her whole career and has taken early retirement on medical grounds. She is living with Stage 4 breast cancer and wants to enjoy life and take up opportunities she may have been too shy for in the past.

Aimee Smart is a 34-year-old mum of two, both under the age of 2, and is currently on maternity leave from her job as cabin crew with Aer Lingus. She wants her kids to grow up in a household that eat healthy meals and where exercise is part of their daily lives. Aimee has spoken openly about the grief of losing her mam just weeks before her wedding and how this has affected her emotionally.

Grainne Walsh (54) from Limerick has struggled with her weight ranging from size 14 to 24 and is 5 foot tall! She started to avoid the scales but knew she was at least 18 stone. She has lost some of the weight and wants to continue on this health challenge.
Like so many Irish mammies, she has spent her life looking after every else - ferrying her three children around and not allowing any time for herself.
